In many cases the chemical containers have to withstand extreme weather conditions. IML’s range of chemical labels will achieve this, ensuring that your data information is accurately and clearly displayed.
The IML team is fully aware of the “CHIP3” and “CDG” regulations. All of our recommended products have BS5609 Marine Approved Adhesive classification.
IML offers a range of high quality labels and systems and are able to recommend and advise you on the most suitable, cost effective, labelling solutions for your product application.
Labels for Drum and IBC Containers can be supplied in rolls or fan-folded to suit your application. Should you require sheet fed for laser printing please click here. IML have tooling and artwork in place for label requirements to suit Chip3 applications, ensuring there is no set up costs incurred to your company.
Suitable for thermal transfer over printing, IML offers a range of quality label materials to suit your application. IML can also recommend and supply the most effective ribbon to suit your chosen label material.

Please find below guidelines on label size according to CHIP3:

Small Warning Diamonds are placed on individual packages and containers.
Large Warning Diamonds have been designed to go onto the outside of cargo transport vehicles e.g. Lorries, tankers, freight containers etc.
Printed in conjunction with the 9 classes, a diamond can represent the primary or secondary warning symbol of the type of product being carried and may also allow space for addition of the UN Number. Warning diamonds are a requirement under the Carriage of Dangerous Goods (CDG) and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. All Hazard Warning Diamonds conform to BS 5609. This specification offers you the guarantee that the labels will withstand 3 months continuous immersion in seawater.

Transport labels are another statutory requirement. IML supply high quality “Class 2” reflective orange self-adhesive vinyl labels in accordance with the CDG and ADR regulations. Non-Haz labels are also available printed black on white self-adhesive vinyl.
Both materials are available as cut singles in various formats including, Haz Boards, Kemler and Compartment Labels.

In accordance with CHIP3 the dimensions of the Haz-Chem label must be as follows:

Sheet fed labels suitable for laser overprinting are a standard product for IML. Overprinted information does not fade or wear in normal outdoor weather conditions.
IML’s BS5609 Marine Approved Laser Polyolefin material can be supplied in a variety of plain or pre-printed formats. Typical sizes are 2, 4, 8 or 16 per A4 sheet. These versatile labels are suitable for a variety of applications. If you need help or advice on the correct label size for your packaging please contact IML for assistance.
Printed labels are standard with orange boxes and black outlines and are also available from our online store. If you require a different style (e.g. including your Company logo and address details on the label) please contact IML for a quote.
IML’s dedicated Systems Division is an authorised dealer of TEC, Zebra, Datamax and OKI printers. Our labelling software packages allow you the freedom to experiment with the overall design of your label.
IML are unique in the breadth of services they provide offering system demonstrations, installation, training and technical support free of charge.
