IML is a privately owned business, consisting of two main manufacturing centres – labels, tags and tickets are produced at Chapeltown in Sheffield and injection moulded badges at Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire.

IML’s history, stretching back to 1935, is rich and varied. The Company was founded to supply heat resistant, durable metal labels to the local steel giants. Those labels are still manufactured by IML today; however, the company’s range of heat resistant labels has advanced beyond recognition, due mainly to the need of steel producers to identify hot products for traceability. IML’s expertise in this field is recognised globally and its labels are used throughout Europe and the Middle and Far East and Asia.

Many of IML’s products have been designed and developed by IML’s Technical Team, in partnership with some of the largest manufacturers of raw labelling materials. The Company’s extensive product range encompasses various printing technologies screen, flexographic and hot foil printing. IML stock an array of materials from highly specialised heat resistant synthetic substrates together with metal-based and standard self-adhesive products.

The Key to IML’s Success

IML purchases directly from raw material suppliers, wherever possible, thus avoiding expensive converting charges and agency commissions. The manufacturing operation has recently seen investment in new machinery and teams across the business are committed to continuous improvement. All these activities produce savings which are reflected directly in the pricing structure and allow IML to deal effectively with end-user and trade enquiries.

BSI Reg IML prides itself in the breadth of knowledge and expertise contained within its team. To ensure that all products are produced to very high standard IML has a team dedicated to the preparation of design, artwork and origination in both the label printing and injection moulding processes.

These activities are all carried out in-house to ensure the customer receives a quality product at the very best price.
