IML Label WizardGeneral & Historic
IML is a family run company with an enthusiasm for customer service. A long history in label manufacturing dates back to 1936 when IML began producing tags to serve the local steel giants of the era. Labelling of metals remains a key influence for IML, our innovation and expertise in this area confirm IML as a global leader in this specialised field.
Having established a forte for high performance labels the company has since diversified into other markets where product identification and traceability are vital in demanding applications. Our aim is to provide each customer with the best possible labelling solution tailored to their individual requirements, budget and deadline. IML also provides a label over-printing service to customers who are not equipped to print
in-house or who opt to conserve resources by out-sourcing this process.
Capabilities
IML controls the entire label manufacturing process in-house from initial enquiry through to after-sales support. If you require a site visit to discuss your labelling needs in detail this can be arranged as IML’s Sales Managers cover the UK. Our International Sales Director, Mr Gordon Dunn, and network of international agents handle meetings outside the UK. Estimating Department and Technical Team call on years of industry knowledge to solve your historic labelling problems and present a valid proposal. Upon ordering artwork, if required, is created in-house to maintain momentum and prevent any delays in delivery. Production does not start until you have signed off a copy of the artwork proofs. Our production machinery is unique within the label manufacturing industry in that it has been modified and adapted by IML to convert our specialised range of high performance materials efficiently. High quality pre-printing, from single to full colour, is carried out by up-to-the-minute technology ie. Mark Andy P5 press.
Your dedicated Account Manager will be available to provide the right level of customer service needed to ensure your Company’s relationship with IML is harmonious and mutually beneficial. Accreditations
Since in 1994 IML has held the ISO accreditation, this was upgraded to the newer ISO 9001: 2000 standard for quality assurance. The company is committed to continual improvement in all aspects of the business from production quality to customer service.
The Investors in People accreditation held since 2005, reflects the level at which IML nurture its relationships with staff ensuring that each individual gets the opportunity to develop their career through access to any necessary training. Proud of our staff retention levels we find we protect the invaluable knowledge, skills and experience gained via years of service which is not easily replaced.
Investments
IML moved premises in 2009, at the height of the global recession, as part of a strategy to prevent redundancies. Savings made from the move, combined with an increased workload have taken the company to a strong financial position. Investments since been reinvested in several different areas of the business. As always our ultimate aim is the improvement of quality and service to our customers. With this in mind IML took delivery of a brand new label printing press – the Mark Andy P5 in October 2011. This £350,000 investment positions IML ahead of its nearest competitors in terms of set-up times, production speeds and print quality. The Mark Andy P5 offers fully automated set-up and exceptional print quality.
IML actuated a corporate rebrand in 2011 with the help of local design company, Vivid Creative. The initial brief was to maintain key elements from IML’s existing identity but to evolve it into a modern, simplistic logo. The new design was so well received the company decided to re-brand each of its main market sectors inline with the new website. We hope you will take the time to browse through our various industry sectors and welcome any comments you would like to make.
